I have to be honest – I feel like the current trends in baby & kids decor are getting a bit stale. So many of the shops, markets and social media feeds are filled with the same cookie-cutter design ideas – there’s A LOT of chevron, woodland creatures and tee-pee’s! Don’t get me wrong, many of these items are beautiful, but I think the whole field needs a breath of fresh air. So, over the next little while I’m hoping to share some unique items/stores/brands which you can consider when shopping for your little one.
The first brand I’d like to introduce you to is Giggle & Co. This little company was launched recently by the lovely Deborah, the talented blogger behind Pure Sweet Joy. I feel like Deb and I are kindred spirits in many ways – we’re both married to techie husbands (who studied together), we both studied science-y degrees (Deb is a trained dietician, while I’m a geneticist), we’re both new-ish moms, and we both love crafts and DIY! It’s been a pleasure to watch the launch and growth of Deborah’s business, and you can tell that each item in her store is designed and made with love (the wooden items are made by her dad). I particularly love the little DIY kits to paint your own decor items, and I’m definitely planning on ordering a couple of the clever wooden print hangers!
